Well, let’s understand the planets to understand the difference 
The Sun moves approximately 1 degree a day which means it takes the Sun 30 days to transit through a sign. And a full year to transit through the entire zodiac. The Sun signifies ones Soul. 

On the other hand, Moon progresses 13-15 degrees a day which means it takes the Moon about 2 days 6 hrs to transit through a sign and about 28 days to transit through the entire zodiac. The moon signifies our mind.

Putting it in perspective
